Scholarships

Want to be a PUP Scholar?
PUP offers entrance scholarships to graduating High School students or High School graduates who have not yet enrolled in any college degree program and who have shown exemplary performance in academics and extra-curricular activities. An applicant for entrance scholarship may not take the PUPCET but has to pass the PUP Scholastic Aptitude and Interest Test (PUPSAIT).

 

You may apply in any of the following types of entrance scholarship:

  1. Academic Scholar (Valedictorian, Salutatorian or First Honorable Mention)
  2. Non-academic Scholar
    1. Campus Journalist
      • editor-in-chief
      • associate editor
      • managing editor
      • news editor
      • feature editor
      • literary edior
      • sports editor
      • writer (news/literary/sports/feature)
      • copy reader
      • contributor/researcher
      • layout artist
      • cartoonist

    2. President of High School Supreme Student Council
    3. Achiever/Awardee - High school graduate who received an award for winning in citywide, provincial, regional, national or international co-curricular competition in an individual or team event
    4. Outstanding Artist - High school graduate who had been active in cultural groups and/or had represented his/her school/community in citywide, provincial, regional, national or international cultural festival
    5. Outstanding Athlete - High school graduate who had been active in athletic groups and/or had represented his/her school/ community in citywide, provincial, regional, national or international sporting events.

You are required to submit the following:

  1. Essential Documents
    1. Certification (with school dry seal) from the principal/school head that applicant graduated as Valedictorian, Salutatorian, or First Honorable Mention; Editor-in-Chief, Associate Editor, Managing Editor, Section Editor, Lay-out Artist, Photojournalist, and Cartoonist; President of High School Supreme Student Council; Achiever/Awardee; Outstanding Artist; and Outstanding Athlete
    2. Certification of Good Moral Character (with school dry seal) from the Principal/School Head
    3. Certified true copy of birth certificate duly authenticated by the National Statistics Office (NSO)
    4. High School Card (Form 138)
    5. Commencement Exercises Program with the list of graduates
    6. Income Tax Return of parent or guardian or certification of non payment of income tax from the barangay
    7. 4 pieces of 2X2 photo with name plate
  2. PUPSAIT result with corresponding official receipt.
  3. Specific Documents
    1. All other documents that will serve as evidence/proof and will attest to the qualification of the entrance scholar-applicant.
    2. Bring all the documents (essential and specific) during the scheduled date of interview, processing of credentials, and enrollment.

Step 2: Bring the printed copy of the payment voucher to Landbank or PUP Cashier’s Office and pay the examination fee of P500.00 (plus P25.00 for bank service charge) April 5 - Last day of payment for First Batch Applicants (Landbank)

April 6 - Last day of payment for First Batch Applicants (PUP Cashier’s Office)

April 12 - Last day of payment for Second Batch Applicants (Landbank)

April 13 - Last day of payment for Second Batch Applicants (PUP Cashier’s Office)
Step 3: Present the validated deposit slip Landbank or the official receipt from PUP Cashier’s Office and the copy of the payment voucher to the Office for Scholarship and Financial Assistance (OSFA) to secure test permit for PUPSAIT. April 6- Last day of issuance of test from permit for first batch (OSFA, W119)

April 13 - Last day of issuance of test permit for second batch (OSFA, W119)

Step 4: Take the PUPSAIT on the scheduled date and time of the examination April 7 - PUPSAIT for First Batch Applicants, 9:30 a.m. onwards PUP Laboratory High School classrooms

April 14 - PUPSAIT for Second Batch Applicants, 9:30 a.m. onwards PUP Laboratory High School classrooms
Step 5: After two (2) days from the date of the examination, visit the PUP website for the result April 9 onwards - first batch

April 15 onwards - second batch
Step 6: Take the English Placement Test (for PUPSAIT passers whose Final Grade in H.S. English is 80, and lower) April 12 onwards - Department of English, Room N220

Step 7: Proceed to respective Screening Committee/Unit/Office and present your essential and other documents for interview and issuance of OSFA-F2-2008 (Entrance Scholarship Committee Route & Approval Sheet) and its head will indicate his/her action taken on the said form Two days and onwards after taking the PUPSAIT and knowing the result

Step 8: If qualified for Entrance Scholarship, proceed to the Chief, Office for Scholarship and Financial Assistance for submission and validation of documents and filling out of OSFA-F3-2008 (Application Form for Scholarship/Grant/Financial Assistance) and OSFA-F4-2008 (Personal Data Sheet for Scholarship/Grant/Financial Assistance) As soon as you passed the screening process

Step 9: Go to the head of the respective Screening Committee Unit/Office for recommendation As soon as you are issued the OSFA-F3-2008 and OSFA-F4-2008

Step 10: Proceed to the Director, Office of the Student Services (Co-chair, Entrance Scholarship Committee) for final recommendation As soon as you qualified and was issued with OSFA-F3-2008 and OSFA-F4-2008 Director, Office of the Student Services (Co-chair, Entrance Scholarship Committee), 2nd Floor, Charlie del Rosario Student Development Center)
Step 11: Proceed to the Vice President for Student Services (Chair, Entrance Scholarship Committee) for final approval of entrance scholarship application Office of the Vice President for Student Services, 2nd floor, South Wing, Executive Offices
Step 12: Visit the PUP Website and fill-out the confirmation slip (SAR-F1a) and have it printed As soon you have the final approval from the Vice President for Student Services
Step 13: Undergo chest X-ray and Secure medical clearance April 13 to 16 - University Medical Clinic, Ground Floor, East Wing
Step 14: Proceed to Admissions and Registration Office for credentials processing, interview, submission of the original and three(3) photocopies of the admission requirements to secure admission slip for enrollment April 19 to 20 - Admissions Office Ground floor, West Wing
Step 15: Proceed to the College offering the program of your first choice for interview by the Dean or Chairperson. In case you are not qualified or there is no more available slot in your first choice, you can go to the college of your second or third choice until you get the approval for acceptance in your desired program April 19 to 20 - College offering the program of your choice
Step 16: Pay the total assessed fees indicated in the Route and Approval Sheet For CA, CB, CCMIT, College of Education, CEFP, CLL, CPES, CS, and CC - PUP Cashier’s Office, Windows 1-5, Ground Floor, South Wing

For CAFA, CE, CNFS, COC and CTHRM - Cashier Counter, 2nd floor Lobby, Ninoy Aquino Library and Learning Resource Center
Step 17: Get the hard copy of your Registration Certificate and surrender your SAR Form 1 Admission and Registration Office Ground Floor, West Wing

Step 18: Present your Registration Certificate when you secure your Student ID on the scheduled date to be announced later ICT Center, 2nd Floor, Ninoy Aquino Library and Learning Resource Center

Note:                                                                                                                  

  1.  Submit the original copy of the Approval Sheet to the Admission and Registration Office.
  2.  Submit one (1) photocopy to the following Offices: 
    1. Office for Scholarship and Financial Assistance (OSFA)
    2. Office concerned where the entrance scholar-applicant is screened.
  3. The successful entrance scholar is advised to report at their respective office/unit for the signing of contract of agreement. The OSFA should be furnished a photocopy of the contract.
