5th University-wide Research Colloquium
As part of the University's 103rd Foundation Anniversary
Rationale
In line with the 10-point agenda towards the vision of a
total university, strengthening research culture among members
of the community is a primary task to accomplish for this vision
to be realized.
One good venue for strengthening and promoting culture of
research in the University is the regular conduct of a research
colloquium. To date, four (4) colloquia have been organized by
the OVPRD since 2000 wherein faculty members were primarily the
targeted audience. This year, the colloquium will take a
holistic approach as it will involve students.
The goal of the 5th University-wide Research Colloquium is to
bring together students, faculty and members of the community
involved in scholarly activities representing a range of
disciplines, including Creative Arts, Mathematics, Business,
Social Science, Humanities, Physical and Life Sciences, and
Engineering, among others. Additional goals involve promoting
research, scholarship, and creative activity done together with
faculty and students as a vital component of higher education.
