Academic Information
The PUP Graduate School conducts its program on a semester basis in
an Academic Year. Time schedule is done on weekdays and including
Saturdays and Sundays. The program duration spans one (1) to two (2)
years.

Examinations
The maximum period for each final examination shall be two (2)
hours.
No faculty member shall change the schedule of examination unless
otherwise authorized by the Dean of the Graduate School.
Grades
Any student receiving a grade below 1.75 (for Doctoral degree) and
2.0 (for Master's Degree) in any of his course requirements will
either have to repeat the course or take a substitute course in the
same discipline or area with the approval of the Graduate School
Dean. However for purposes of graduation, the overall grade in the
academic course should be 2.0 for Master's Degree and 1.75 for doctor
degree.
The grading system for qualifying courses shall be either “P”
(Pass) or “N” (No Credit), the number of units shall be indicated in
parentheses.
Grading System
The following rating system shall be adopted by the Graduate
School:
Doctoral degree
1.00 - Excellent
1.25 - Very Good
1.50 - Good
1.75 - Passed
Below 1.75 - Failed Incomplete (Lack of course requirement
i.e., failed to take the examination and/or submit other
requirements)
Master's Degree
1.00 - Excellent
1.25 - Very Good
1.50 - Good
1.75 - Satisfactory
2.00 - Passed
Below 2.00 - Failed Incomplete (Lack of course requirement
i.e., failed to take the examination and/or submit other
requirements)
Incomplete Grades
A student whose course work is incomplete at the time the grade
was submitted shall be given a grade of Incomplete (INC). If he
fails to complete the course work within one (1) year from the
issuance of the grade of INC, the grade lapses to No Credit (N).
A student who voluntarily drops a course he is registered in
automatically receives “W” when he files a Withdrawal Form at any
time up to the last day of the last week of class prior to the final
examination.
A student who has two or more “Incomplete” grades shall not be
allowed to enroll until he has removed his “Incomplete” grades.
Graduate Credit for Participants in Seminars, Internships, and
other Training Programs
Participants in training programs who are bachelor’s degree holders
and who have completed at least one hundred (100) hours of training may
be credited with a maximum of six (6) units in the courses pursued on
the graduate level subject to the conditions set in Commission on Higher
Education (CHED) Order No. 7, s. 1995, dated March 1, 1995 re: Criteria
for the Accreditation of Seminar Workshops/Trainings Attended for Credit
in the Graduate Programs. |
