Graduation Requirements

To be awarded a Doctoral degree, the following requirements must be met:

• Completion of the academic course requirements with no grade below 1.75 in any course work finally considered; and overall average of at least 1.75
  
• Passing of the written comprehensive examination
  
• Passing of the oral defense of the candidate’s dissertation before the Dissertation Defense Committee.
  
• Meeting the minimum one year residence requirement

To be awarded a Master’s degree, the following requirements must be met:

• Completion of the academic course requirements with no grade below 2.50 in any course work finally considered; and overall average of at least 2.0
  
• Passing of the written comprehensive examination
  
• Passing of the oral defense of the candidate’s thesis before the Thesis Defense Committee; and
  
• Meeting the minimum one year residence requirement.
