Former PUP Scholarship and Financial Assistance Services head Prof. Cristalina Ramos-Piers is now at the helm of the PUP Laboratory High School. Piers, a long-time secondary school teacher, assumed office as Principal last February 10 by virtue of Special Order No. 0087, Series of 2014.
The new principal envisions LHS to continually produce quality graduates. “The students should enjoy their freedom but being mindful of their moral responsibilities. I want our students to become integrated individuals equipped with a high degree of social competence. They should also be self-reliant and critical thinkers. These I believe would be a good contribution for nation building,” she exclaimed.
“This vision won’t be possible also without the help of our support system. There should be collaboration with staff, parents and the community to ensure that each student is engaged in diverse academic and social opportunities to reach their higher potentials,” she added.
“Our role as educators is to make these things possible… we should give the best opportunities to our students,” she said.
Piers previously served as Faculty Assistant at the Office of Student Services. A former officer of the faculty club, she was once appointed as University scholarship coordinator and adviser of different student organizations.
