The Polytechnic University of the Philippines held its First Annual Mardis Gras for Peace and Human Rights in conjunction with the celebration of the International Human Rights Day on December 10, 2012 in the Mabini Campus, PUP. This is only one of the highlights of the two-week celebration of the University led by the Institute for Social Sciences and Development (ISSD) and the University Center for Human Rights, Research and Extension (UCHURRE) for Christmas.
The PUP Mardis Gras and Carnival for Peace and Human Rights also showcased the following events from December 3 to 14, 2012 at the forest park:
Culminating all the activities for the Human Rights Week celebration is a concert featuring live band performances singing for peace on December 14, 2012. The concert is entitled "Rakrakan sa Karapatan: Rock Concert for Peace".
