These are the times when words cannot describe in totality the terror and grief that our countrymen, mostly in the Visayas islands, are experiencing. These are also the times when statistics are not enough to count the victims and measure the horrific effects of a natural calamity, particularly of a super-typhoon.
But, these are not at all important right now.
One people who die in our midst, is far too many. One of our countrymen, crying for help, is far too many for comfort and assistance.
We, in the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) academic community, are asking everyone to help our beloved countrymen, who were victims of the super-typhoon Yolanda. While we, the Filipinos, are known for our resiliency during disasters and tragedies, we are also known for our bayanihan, which “embodies mutual assistance and self-help among equals or togetherness in a common effort”.
We can do this. We need to do this. Our brothers and sisters are waiting.
All donations can be forwarded to the Community Relations and Extension for Development Office (CREDO), located at Room 308, 3rd Floor, South Wing, Apolinario Mabini (Main) Campus Building, Anonas St., Sta. Mesa, Manila, Tel. 716-78-32 to 50 Local 212.
Thank you very much.
God bless us all and God bless the Philippines!
