The Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) launches on Monday, November 18 “Saro Kita: PUP Community’s Day of Meal-Sharing with ‘Yolanda’ Victims”. PUP officials, faculty, employees and students are poised to share their noontime meal budget for the day to the victims of the recent calamity which struck the people of Leyte, Samar and other major islands in the Visayas.
“Saro Kita” forms part of the country’s first polytechnic and largest state university’s relief and rehabilitation program dubbed PUP Operation Damayan.
Earlier this week, PUP President Dr. Emanuel C. De Guzman encouraged all officials, designees and employees to donate the suggested amount corresponding to at least one night salary while all faculty members were requested to share at least one subject (3 hour) part-time salary.
