PUP College of Communication students won 3 of the 10 awards in the PODCAST 2014 competition organized by the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas and the University of Santo Tomas. The awarding ceremony was held last January 31 at the Civil Law Auditorium of UST in Sampaloc, Manila.
The DZMC-Young Communicators’ Guild brought home the 2nd Best Radio Drama plum for their entry dubbed as “Tutor”. Mulat Documentary Guild scored a double victory after it garnered the 3rd Best Radio Documentary award for “Natatangi” and 3rd Best Radio Drama for “Workbook”. These winning entries from PUP deal with educationrelated issues.
“Tutor” was produced by PM Faye Forteo, Kenneth Pascua, Aimee Avanceña, Cristal Mae Golocino and Harold Gutierrez of DZMC-YCG. “Natatangi,” had for its producers Justin Beneraba, Jathniel Casimpoy, Hazel Revilla and Flordeliza Martinez while “Workbook” came from the group of Mark William Ompoc, Kevin Buenaventura, Walter Bongar, Lyrics Malate, Louise Dolores, Marx Halili, Mariel Nicdao and Jessica Morales.
PODCAST 2014 drew the participation of students from Trinity University of Asia, St. Paul University, Bicol State University, Miriam College, Arellano University, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa, Lyceum of the Philippines, San Beda College-Alabang, Ateneo de Manila University, Ateneo de Naga University, De La Salle University, Philippine Women’s University, University of Sto. Tomas, and Polytechnic University of the Philippines.
