The Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) and the Civil Service Commission (CSC) jointly launched on April 10 the ‘Contact Center ng Bayan’ or CCB, a government assistance center which is now housed at the PUP BPO Center along Pureza Street in Sta. Mesa, Manila.
CSC Chairperson Dr. Francisco T. Duque III graced the occasion along with other officials who received warm welcome from University executives led by PUP President Dr. Emanuel C. De Guzman.
Dr. Duque congratulated and thanked PUP for hosting the CCB. He said that the center will be a great help in promoting professionalism, outstanding service and better governance. The center will cater to inquiries and complaints from Filipino citizens and clients of different government agencies and offices.
PUP President De Guzman, meanwhile, declared that PUP is very proud of the launching after months of concerted efforts and numerous consultations. He said that among those who would be very happy is Commission on Higher on Education (CHED) and former PUP Board of Regents (BOR) Chairperson Dr. Patricia B. Licuanan who insisted that the PUP BPO Center should be revived to generate income for the University and at the same time provide service to the country.
PUP Vice President for Administration Prof. Alberto C. Guillo gave the welcome remarks while CSC Public Assistance Information Office Director Dr. Maria Luisa S. Agamata, provided information on the CCB Project. CCB Project Director Marlon Lim delivered the closing remarks.
