PUP Engineering Students Won 1st Place in IIEE National Convention

EE Students from the PUP College of Engineering won first place in the 6th Electrical Engineering National Contest held during the 36th Annual IIEE National Convention and 3EXPO 2011 last November 24, 2011.

PUP Engineering Students Won 1st Place in IIEE National ConventionThe team of the winning entry entitled "MICROBIAL FUEL CELL: PASIG RIVER SEDIMENTS FOR LIGHTING"  is composed of EE students BENEDICT D. DAISOG, ENRICO M. DELA CRUZ, ALVIN RENE I. SALAZAR, JAYSON U. TISCA, GILBERT J. CROBILLO, and NEKO E. TANEO; advisers ENGR. FAUSTINO R. RURAL and ENGR. KRISTIAN CARLO VICTORIO, and chairperson, ENGR. CESAR C. BUENAVIDES.

There were a total of 11 entries from all over the Philippines (several even came from leading schools), and was trimmed down to 5 finalists, which includes the team from PUP.

The event was hosted by the Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Philippines, Inc. and was held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC).
