Teatro Komunikado Lauches 'Sampu sa Ika-Sampu'
Hannah Lyss Tampioc, PUP News, Volume 8 Issue No. 16 November 1-30, 2011Teatro Komunikado, the official theatre and production organization of PUPCollege of Communication, launched a book entitled “Sampu sa Ika-Sampu” when it celebrated its 10th anniversary last November 18 at Cinema One, SM Sta. Mesa.

Sampu sa Ika-Sampu is a book compilation of ten original playscripts written by the members and alumni of Teatro Komunikado. These are “Salumpwet”, “Deliryo”, “Villa Colayco”, “Silang mga Dating Bata”, “Tatlong Taong Ms. Tres”, “Isang Tanong”, “El Heredero”, “Backstage”, and “Untitled”.
The program commenced with an audio-visual presentation that showed various celebrities and media personalities greeting Teatro Komunikado for its anniversary. Then a speech was delivered by Mr. Ashley Genete, Book Launch Committee Head, to formally introduce the book.
As part of the book launch, three theatre plays were staged which can also be read in the book. The two were originally written by Teatro Komunikado members and the other is “Pobreng Alindahaw”, a play by Dennis Teodosio.
The event was attended by the PUP community including Dean Amalia Rosales of PUP Graduate School, Prof. Mila Dela Costa of College of Communication, Dir. Racidon Bernarte of Research Management and Extension Office and students from different colleges.
The award-winning screenwriter and novelist Ricky Lee also participated in the event by giving his personal congratulatory speech for the Teatro Komunikado.
Truly, the 10th anniversary show of TeatroKomunikado was a remarkable moment for the PUP-College of Communication.
