As in the past, the College of Accountancy had the most number of graduates (238 in all) during the recently held 2011 Midyear Commencement of the University.

Lawyer Estelita Wi dela Rosa, PUP officer-in-charge, congratulated the 1,095 graduates, 105 of whom were from PUP’s satellite campuses (PUP San Pedro, PUP Sta. Maria, PUP Sta. Rosa, and PUP Taguig).
The graduates, who marched and received their diplomas at the university gymnasium, were led by Dr. Emilyn Q. Libunao, who delivered the thanksgiving speech because she finished her Doctor of Business Administration degree with an impressive academic performance.
The Officer-in-Charge, along with the Executive Vice President and the Vice Presidents, did the hooding of the master’s- and doctoral-degree graduates and the distribution of diplomas to all graduates, including those for a bachelor’s degree.
The university chief executive introduced Director Carmelita Yadao-Sison, Director of the Legal Service of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), as commencement speaker.
Earlier at the baccalaureate mass celebrated by Rev. Fr. Lonnie Borg, MSSP, OIC Dela Rosa delivered her message to the graduating class.
Besides the College of Accountancy, the rest of the colleges with midyear graduates were the College of Engineering with 110 graduates; College of Business with 61; College of Science, 33; College of Arts, 25; College of Tourism, Hospitality and Transportation Management, 15; College of Computer Management and Information Technology, 14; and College of Economics, Finance, and Politics, 14.
University Registrar Melba Abaleta said that every year PUP churns out some 3,000 to 4,000 graduates who join the country’s growing list of professionals.
