It is election time once more for Unyon ng mga Kawani sa PUP (UNAKA-PUP)! The main campus is abuzz with excitement as the two parties do the rounds of the offices and make themselves visible, discussing their platforms of government.

From the Editor's DesktopUNAKA-PUP, which is duly registered with the Department of Labor and Employment and the Civil Service Commission, is “committed to protect the administrative employees’ rights and to advance their interests toward decent work, under conditions that enhance creativity, excellence, freedom, dignity, security, and equity without discrimination in the University.”

As such, it has entered into a formal agreement with the University for the (1) provision of a just, humane, reasonable, and equitable working environment; (2) assurance of maximum productivity; and (3) promotion of the general welfare, health, safety, and the best interest of all administrative employees to further foster harmonious and progressive labor-management in the University.

The University community hopes that the employees will see much better days ahead, and the forged relationship between our Sintang Paaralan and her support staff will be reinforced. UNAKA needs officers who are willing to set aside self-interest for the common good.

PUP is not bereft of selfless, strong-willed, committed people…they are still very-much around.

To the electorate: Go to the polls. Make your vote count. But…be discriminating. Spot the trustworthy and hardworking from the sweet-talking and easygoing.
