College of Technology Holds 1st Graduation and Recognition Rites
Rudolf Anthony A. Lacerna and Sandino B. Cardenas, PUP Campus Observer, Volume 1, Issue 7, May 2012A total of 682 pioneering students made history when they marched at the PUP Gymnasium during the College of Technology’s 1st commencement exercises last May 8.
Outstanding graduate Nicole Danielle S. Adona delivered a message on behalf of the entire batch which had educator and civil society leader Edicio G. dela Torre as its commencement speaker. The latter, a private sector representative to the PUP Board of Regents, formerly served as director-general of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.
CT Dean, Dr. Roland C. Viray, said the college’s first set of graduates came from the following programs: Information Communication Management Technology, 310; Computer Engineering Management Technology, 165; Legal Office Management Technology, 109; Electronics and Communication Engineering Management Technology, 33; Medical Office Management Technology, 32; Electrical Engineering Management Technology, 17; and Mechanical Engineering Management Technology, 16.
Meanwhile, the college recognized its outstanding students in a ceremony held last May 4 at the Bulwagang Balagtas, Ninoy Aquino Library and Learning Resource Center.
Scholastic Achiever awards were given to Adona, Best Student in Information Communication; Jeffrey C. Alas, Best Student in Legal Office Management; Ms. Sheila Joy S. Brizuella, Best Student in Medical Office Management; Ms. Maricar T. Almazor, Best Student in Computer Engineering Management; and Paul N.Calsada Jr., Best Student in Mechanical Engineering Management.
Students who performed well in various disciplines were also commended. Paul John D. Salvador received the Best in Sports award; R-Jay C. Nobesteros, the Best Artist award; and Alberto D. Almojuella, the Leadership award.
