RMO Conducts Series of Research Orientation for Faculty

The Research Management Office (RMO) under the Office of the Vice President for Research, Extension and Development conducts a series of Faculty Orientation about PUP Research Thrusts and Priorities on the theme “Empowering Research Mentors Towards Collaborative Research Undertaking” during the month of August. The series of orientation seminar was conceptualized to benefit all branches and campuses of the University. The participants were divided into four groups/clusters – South (all PUP branches and campuses in the southern part of Luzon), North (all branches and campuses in the northern part of Luzon), PUP Main 1 (colleges under the science and engineering disciplines), and PUP Main 2 (colleges under the HUSOCOM, Business and Education disciplines).




Discussions on collaborative research undertaking, university research agenda, institutional funding, government funding agencies, intellectual property policy and research priorities of the OVPRED Research Centers were among the highlights of the faculty orientation.

Spearheaded by RMO Director Racidon P. Bernarte and ably assisted by the research coordinators, all directors and chiefs of the different research centers were in full force: Dir. Pasumbal of the Center for Peace and Poverty Studies; Dir. Duque of the Center for Entrepreneurial Development; Dir. Pinalas of the Center for Human Development; Dir. Rivas of ISH-RIPE; Dir. Enerva of the Sci-Tech; Dir. Cruz of the Center for Global Warming Studies; Chief San Gabriel of the Center for Human Rights Research and Education; Chief Sitjar of the Center for Labor and Industrial Relations Studies; and Engr. Rural of the Innovation Technology Support Office.

PUP President Emmanuel C. de Guzman, VP for Research, Extension, and Development Manuel M. Muhi and Executive Director for Branches Joseph Mercado fully supported the event.
