PUP to Host Pinoy Media

The 5th Pinoy Media Congress (PMC) will be held on February 4 and 5 at the Bulwagang Balagtas of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP), Sta. Mesa, Manila.

Pushing the staging of the PMC - a venue for interaction among media experts, communication teachers and students - are PUP, ABS-CBN and Philippine Association of Communication Educators Foundation (PACE), Inc.

The holding of the two-day media congress was finalized with the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement by the officials of the three organizations. President Dante G. Guevarra signed the MOA on behalf of PUP; VP Ramon R. Osorio signed for ABS-CBN; and President Flordeliz L. Abanto signed for PACE.

For five years now, academic in situations like PUP have been working hand-in-hand with PACE and ABS-CBN.

Thru the Pinoy Media Congress, PUP can showcase its enhanced campus environment, upgraded colleges, state-of-the-art technology and nationally and internationally recognized program and media practitioners.

President Guevarra said the Media Congress is very timely. Having "Politics, Media and Citizenship" as its theme, topics to be discussed in the plenary would be delving on political advertising, politics and the social media, public opinion, the code of ethics in news gathering, citizen journalism, political advocacy and presidential profile.
