To serve as a foil to the danger of modernization, the Center for Human Development has been organized to help raise the people’s social consciousness and assist them in solving their problems of poverty and un/underemployment without losing their sense of nationhood, particularly their pride for their unique culture and traditions. This is the CHD’s ultimate raison d’etre - to consider humanity as the end of development so that people, no matter how economically well-off they may be, will always feel and think that they belong to a bigger group called humanity.
