Welcome to the Polytechnic University of the Philippines. There is
so much excitement in the world today brought about by the
technological and knowledge revolution. This development has, no
doubt, improved the quality of lives of people to an unprecedented
degree. The plethora of information that overwhelms us today makes
it imperative that we acquire the skills needed for us to survive
the future.
We, at the PUP, must take the essential steps and initiate
reforms to be at the forefront of this technological revolution. We
have to adapt to this emerging culture of thinking and doing. We
need to enhance old skills and hone new ones to enable us to
process intelligently the vast sea of information engulfing us.
We are glad to welcome the new batch of young students who
successfully passed our admission requirements and who will soon be
equipped with the needed social skills to address new challenges in
the world of work today.
PUP, a vanguard of the new culture, has envisioned itself to
become a "Total University." Officially established in 1904 the
University boasts of a body of highly experienced academics and
fully embraces the meaning of the new technological age in its very
name - a polytechnic university.
Here, you will undergo novel ways of discovering truths and
learning. Definitely, you will find our methods, techniques and
approaches to teaching meaningful and effective. We want you to
become creators and discoverers of new knowledge to prepare you for
life after school. Our intensive links with industry, business, and
government ensure classroom experiences that replicate life in its
various settings. After 4 to 5 years with us, you are ready to step
into the world of work. By then, you will have been glad to be a
product of this "National Comprehensive University."
More than just 'inform' and 'reform', we will 'transform' you to
love work beyond yourselves.
