November 24 to 28, 2014 Ninoy Aquino Library and Learning Resource Center Sta. Mesa, Manila
The Ninoy Aquino Library and Learning Resource Center will be celebrating National Book Week on November 24-28, 2014 with the theme “Philippine Libraries: Future Possibilities”.
In consonance with the celebration, we have designed activities fitted for the occasion. We will be holding activities such as book character parade contest, lecture-forum, storytelling contest and film showing.

Must be composed of not more than 20 members.
Must use characters that symbolize the message of the theme.
Must have originality and creativity.
Must work with a low cost budget.
Must register before November 21, 2014.

The Book Thief is a 2013 American-German war drama film directed by Brian Percival and starring Geoffrey Rush, Emily Watson, and Sophie Nélisse. Based on the novel of the same name by Markus Zusak and adapted by Michael Petroni, the film is about a young girl living with her adoptive German family during the Nazi era. Taught to read by her kind-hearted foster father, the girl begins "borrowing" books and sharing them with the Jewish refugee being sheltered by her foster parents in their home. The film features a musical score by Oscar-winning composer John Williams.

The Physician is a 2013 German adventure film based on the novel of the same name by Noah Gordon. The movie focuses on an orphan from 11th-century English town whose mother died of a mysterious illness. The boy vows to study medicine and decides to travel to Persia.
