PUP College of Arts and Letters (CAL) - Kagawaran ng Filipinolohiya concluded the celebration of the National Arts Month yesterday, February 24 at the University Freedom Park.
Featuring performances from Arts and Design Track students from the Senior High School, AB Filipinolohiya students, university-based band Eunice, the KnF faculty, and rock band Esremborak, the event celebrated Filipino art through music, dance, theater, and poetry.
Performances varied, from "Eulohiya para kay Eileen," to a cover of Bita and the Botflies' "Sisikat Ka Iha," to Esremborak's "Longlive Pangets."
When asked on what's next for the Kagawaran ng Filipinolohiya, faculty member Jenilyn Manzon responded, "Siyempre, ang pag-push na isabatas ang HB (House Bill) 223 na magrerequire ng Filipino sa pamantasan, isang Panitikan [na asignatura], at siyempre, mga gawaing pangkaunlaran."
The National Arts Month celebrations began last February 3. ###
