The PUP College of Communication’s official radio arm, DZMC 98.3, bagged several awards in the Radio Veritas Campus Hour Season 8 Awards Ceremony held on May 19, 2018 at the Universidad de Manila, Ermita. The PUP’s iteration of the Radio Veritas program “Campus Hour” was recognized as the Best Campus Hour School Award, with Carlo Manansala awarded as the Best Male Anchor. “PUP Campus Hour Season 8” was also nominated under the Best Radio Drama Program and Best Radio Promotional Campaign categories. They faced nine different universities from Luzon and Metro Manila. “Campus Hour” is a weekly radio program, hosted by different universities each month, which “aims to let participants share the Good News of the Lord” through different strategies such as radio drama and counseling, according to DZMC President Rochelle Rodrigo. “Participants are free to show their creativity in using the word of God to share to the listeners the different issues faced by the youth,” Rodrigo told the Observer. “PUP Campus Hour Season 8” was produced by members of the Young Communicators' Guild (YCG), who also runs DZMC. Key students behind the program include Rodrigo, head writer, and Michelle Camara, production manager. “PUP Campus Hour Season 8” ran every Saturday, 2:30-3:30pm from December 5-30. The next season will air on January 2019, Rodrigo noted.
