The Center for Technology Transfer and Enterprise Development (CTTED), under the Intellectual Property Management Office (IPMO), of the Office of the VP for Research, Extension, Planning and Development (OVPREPD) under Vice President Manuel M. Muhi launched its annual exhibit with the theme “Towards Social Capital and Innovation”. The event was held from the Ground Floor to the Fourth Floor Lobby of the South Wing of the PUP Main Building. The participating colleges were the College of Engineering, College of Science, College of Educaiton, College of Business Administration, PUP Laboratory High School, Open University, College of Computer and Information Sciences and the Institute of Technology. The participating campuses were PUP Quezon City, PUP Taguig, PUP Pulilan, PUP Maragondon and PUP Sta. Rosa. The said event focused on three product categories, such as: INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGY, PRODUCT: FOOD CATEGORY and PRODUCT: NON-FOOD CATEGORY.

The event showcased the innovations developed by the different colleges and campuses of the university. The aim of the event was to facilitate linkages between the university and different industries, and forge academic-industry collaborations.
The seminar opened with Dr. Elmer G. De Jose delivering the welcome remarks, while the University President Dr. Emanuel C. De Guzman gave the inspirational message. The President commended the students and the participants for their creativity and ingenuity in coming up with highly innovative products. Keynote speakers were Mr. Henry Campos, Sales and Marketing Officer, Bakerite; and Mr. Wilson Lee Flores, Manager, Kamuning Bakery Café. Both of them shared their secrets for their business success, especially on cakes and pastries.
After the seminar at C.M. Recto Hall, President De Guzman, together with the invited guests, faculty members and students proceeded to the Ground Floor for the ribbon-cutting. The University President was assisted by EVP and VP for REPD Dr. Manuel M. Muhi, VPA Alberto C. Guillo, VP for Branches Dr. Joseph Mercardo, VPSS Dr. Herminia Manimtim, HRDO Director Adam Ramilo, AVP Mely Luya, with the PUP Laboratory High School Drum and Lyre. The executive committee for this year’s exhibit was headed by of Dr. Manuel M. Muhi, with AVP Mely Luya and Dr. Elmer G. De Jose as members.
Prof. Perla B. Patriarca, headed the working committee assisted by CTTED & IPMO Staff Ms. Irma Gatcho, Ms. Ruth Mungcal and Ms. Romina Consul, with the help of the student working committees from BSE 3-1, BSE 3-2, MM 2-1, MM 2-3N, MM 2-4, MM 2-4N headed by Ms. Faustine Lim.
In line with the exhibit, a competition was launched to select outstanding products in the different categories such as INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGY, FOOD CATEGORY and NON-FOOD CATEGORY.
The Board of Judges for the said competition was composed of AVP Mely Luya as Chair, Atty. Gary C. Aure, Mr. Henry Campos, and Mr. Wilson Lee Flores as members.

The objective of the annual contest is to develop entrepreneurial culture among PUP students and promote entrepreneurship as a major component in economic development. Nationalism instilled through the inculcation of values that gives importance to indigenous materials. Ten finalists were selected by a Technical Review Committee from numerous entries submitted by different colleges and campuses. Members of the Technical Review Committee were Prof. Jerome Dumlao, Prof. Ma. Teresa Corrales, Prof. Angelita S. Villaruel and Prof. Joseph M. Lardizabal as Chairman. For the Final “Oral Defense” the panel of Judges were Dr. Bobby Versoza, Mr. Jonathan Domingo Prof. Blessing Glova, and Prof. Mely R. Luya, as the Chairman. Winners of these academic competition are invited as “guest speakers” in “Magnegosyo Tayo” a radio program of PUP-PBS at Radyo ng Bayan every wednesday, for them to discuss details about their product. Entries were judged based on the products’ innovativeness and creativity, socio-economic impact, marketability, relevance and management.
