Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) astronomer Nico Mendoza, Astronomical League of the Philippines founder Allen Yu and People’s Television (PTV) Newslife’s Science/Weather reporter Edmund Rosales discussed topics related to observational astronomy.
The day-long activity intended to stimulate public interest on astronomy by concentrating more on its practical side, and to serve enthusiasts by providing free lectures on observational astronomy. It also aimed to build linkage among local amateur astronomers and members of the academe.
Preparations for the event were initiated by PUP PhySoc adviser Reynold V. Luna, PAS Events chairperson Hernan Dizon and Engr. Camilo Dacanay.
