College of Communication Official Film Entry received various recognitions in the video festival on migration, diversity and social inclusion dubbed as “Plural + Youth Video Festival 2018,” held on November 19, 2018 in the United Nations Headquarter in New York.
In this activity jointly initiated by the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the film “False Hope” received four major awards namely the Plural+ 2018 International Jury Award (age group 18-25); Plural+2018 CHIHN INDIA Award; Plural+2018 SIGNIS Award; and Plural+ 2018 Doha Centre for Media Freedom Award.
Prior to that, the film also received awards in different local student video competitions such as follows:
The film with the original title “PA(G)ASA” was produced by the Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Communication (BABRC) students namely Al-jhun Romel Virgo, Mary Alexis Tolentino, Ella Mae Gonzales, Aira Santos, Angelikka Eden Garcia, Princess Jazmine Garcia, Angela Given Formanes, Marvin Parado, Jay-ar Gallos, Alyssa Mae Recuenco, Natasha Marie Ramos, Maricel Ascotia, Francis Atendido, Inna Rebosada and Lyka Bravo.
