Former Head Executive Assistant Dr. Anna Ruby P. Gapasin assumed the position as new PUP Vice President for Research, Extension, and Development.
Dr. Gapasin's capacity to lead was strengthened by several positions she has held. She served as Director of the Communication Management Office from April 2013 - January 2016, Executive Director of the PUP Open University System from 2003 to June 2018, Head Executive Assistant from July 2016 to June 2018 and University Board Secretary from March 2018 to June 2018.
She finished her bachelor's degree in AB Communication Arts in Lyceum of the Philippines. Eight years after, she graduated Master in Mass Communication in the Polytechnic University of the Philippines. She also took Diploma in Radio Journalism in Ateneo de Manila University in 2008 and later obtained her doctorate degree in Education Management in PUP in 2011.
She continuously wrote researches which have been funded and recognized by various national and international organizations. Among her funded researches were "Status and Relevance of Journalism Education in the Philippines" funded by UNESCO Asian Media and Information Center (Singapore); the “Public Service Broadcasting in the Philippines" funded by UNESCO, Asian Institute of Journalism and Communication and Philippine Association of Communication Educators; the "Status of Higher Education Institution-Industry Partnership among HEIs in NCR-ZRC Group 1," funded by the Commission on Higher Education; and other institutional researches which were funded by PUP.
Aside from these, Dr. Gapasin also attended symposia, conferences, conventions, seminars, workshops, training, etc., either as a participant, trainer, or paper presenter in the Philippines, Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, Indonesia, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Macau, and Hong Kong.
Following the changes in the executive committee, Resource Generation Office Director Mr. Rolando Covero Jr. assumed the position as the new University Board Secretary while College of Arts and Letters' Professor Clarisse Ann M. De Leon serves as the new Head Executive Assistant.
