Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) expressed its gratitude to the generous benefactors who extended help during the pandemic through an awarding ceremony held via Facebook live on October 22, 2021.
Through the donations of the benefactors, PUP was able to distribute e-learning materials to students from various PUP branches and campuses, including wifi, tablets, mobile data plans, laptop computers, and scholarship funds, all of which have helped to alleviate the difficulty of thousands of PUPians to adapt to the new learning set-up.
Among the awarded benefactors who contributed e-learning tools were: Cebuana Lhuiller Foundation, Arga-J Pure Bliss Incorporated, Department of Environment and National Resources, OSM Maritime Services, Inc., Deloitte Philippines, Regal Beloit Asia Pte Ltd, ROHQ, Concentrix Philippines, Juan Manila Co., and Junior Chamber International.
In addition, PUP has received assistance from donors who provided relief goods and offered aid to stranded PUPians during the onset of the pandemic, including the Makati Megaworld Foundation Inc., GMA Kapuso Foundation, SM Foundation, Philippine National Police, Manila Police District, Philippine Army, 7CRG, CRSAFP, PUP Campus Ministry, GM Benjie J. Esquivel of Gran Logia Nacional de Filipinas, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Air 21, Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia, Star 8, and PUP Federation of Alumni Associations. These benefactors were also recognized for their ongoing assistance to the university in addressing the grave impact of the pandemic on the academic sector.
President Manuel M. Muhi delivered a message of gratitude to the benefactors on behalf of the PUP Community and pledged to also give back to the benefactors through strengthening the quality of outcomes of the university,
“Tunay po na mas malalim ang pagbabayanihan at mas matingkad ang pagkakaisa sa gitna ng pagsubok. Ang inyo pong mga tulong ang nagsilbing gabay na liwanag para matahak po ng pamantasan ang mahaba’t masukal na landas ng pandemya. With your help, we are even more motivated and humbled to improve our outcomes as a community, and this has fueled our desire to work even harder and give back to our respective communities through the skills and expertise we have possessed,” he said.
Dr. Alberto Guillo, Executive Vice President, also graced the event, as were the benefactors who each got a plaque of appreciation from the institution during the awarding ceremony.
