PUP Maragondon, Cavite signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) on June 24, 2021.
PEZA is a principal government agency tasked to develop, manage and administer economic zones to help increase the income and productivity of Filipino workers. PEZA also helps people to find a job fit for their skills and knowledge, especially in rural areas.
Aligned with the PEZA's chore, PUP Maragondon's mission is to provide excellent, relevant, and equitable educational opportunities that will help to produce professional, skilled and morally upright individuals who will be a part of a globally competitive workforce.
Vice President for Branches and Campuses Prof. Pascualito B. Gatan represented the PUP while Director General BGen Charito B. Plaza MNSA represented the PEZA, with the presence of Atty. Norma B. Tanag and PUP Maragondon Branch Director Dr. Agnes Y. Gonzaga.
Under the MoU, both parties will collaborate on beneficial program instructions and training that will enhance the education and training needs. Both parties will also share research materials, data, and documents to design and develop training that will help deflate job-skills mismatch and will help in promoting the development of the knowledge-based workforce.
PUP Maragondon also commits to support PEZA's promotion of human capital by providing various educational programs/ courses and technical skills relevant to which industry is about, as part of one of the programs of PEZA's Special Economic Zone Institute.
