Juan Miguel Gumabon, 4th year Architecture Student, was a finalist in the 2018 Directory Philippines-PLDT Visual Art Competition for its directory cover design for 2018-2019.
Because of his work titled “Kinaya, Kinakaya, Kakayanin”, Gumabon received a Certificate as Finalist and PhP 10,000.00 during the awarding ceremony on March 20, 2018 at the Lobby of the Cultural Center of the Philippines.
This year’s theme, “Pinoy Pride” had sought to bring out artists’ take on national identity, and celebration of culture and diversity.
Gumabon is an addition to the long history of winners of PUP in the said competition. Alfredo Martirez, an Interior Design graduate, won in 2016, while Arnica Acantilado, an architecture graduate, bagged the grand prize in 2008.
