College of Communications students bagged awards in the recently concluded Philippine Journalism Research Conference (PJRC) 2021 held on May 7 and 8.
With this year’s theme "State of Journalism during Pandemic,” University of the Philippines’ PJRC seeked to promote Journalism Studies Research, Special Projects Multi-Media, Special Projects Features, Investigative Journalism, and Photo Essay.
Among the awards received by PUPians were:

Ms. Jamela Alindongan, President of the Foreign Correspondents Association of the Philippines (FOCAP) and Al Jazeera served as the keynote speaker of the event while the McLuhan Panel Forum, featuring Christian Esguerra (McLuhan Fellow 2020), Manny Mogato (McLuhan Fellow 2017), and Miriam Grace Go (McLuhan Fellow 2002) as panel members, was moderated by Professor and Journalist Ms. Kara David.
This year's conference was co-organized by the Asian Institute of Journalism and Communication (AIJC), the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP), and the University of Santo Tomas (UST), in line with the University of the Philippines Journalism department's commitment to contribute to journalism scholarship, being the Center of Excellence for Journalism of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).
