Department of History, under the College of Social Sciences and Development, in collaboration with PUP Institute for Cultural Studies, Center for Social History, National Commission for Culture and the Arts, Philippine Social Science Council, National Historical Commission of the Philippines, Philippine Historical Association, and the Mexican Embassy conducted series of lectures, and events on August to September 2016 as part of the University's celebration of the History Month.
The Department organized a lecture-forum with the theme “Connections Across the Continents: Historic Ties, Integrated Development and Frontiers for Convergence” where H.E. Julio Camarena Villaseñor, the Ambassador of Mexican Embassy in Manila, served as speaker on August 22, 2016 at Bulwagang Bonifacio.
Meanwhile, Dr. Raul Roland Sebastian, Chairperson of the Department of History, served as one of the Plenary Speakers in the PHA National Conference in Davao City held on August 18-20, 2016.
In a separate event, the department shared tastes and stories through its 2016 Food Festival held on August 26,2016. Additionally, they discovered the beauty and history of Batangas by its educational tour titled "ALA EH, HERITAGE TOUR IN BATANGAS” on August 30,2016.
On August 31 and September 14, 2016, the Department of History collaborated with different offices to conduct the lecture series with the theme “Bridging the Culture of Peace in the Philippines Umpukan Para sa Kapayapaan”.
Lastly, the department continuously supported a seminartitled "#KASAYSAYAN: Ang Historiograpiya Bilang salik sa Pagbabago" on September 7,2016 at PUP San Juan Audio-Visual Room.
