A total of 61 graduates received their certificates during the Sertipiko sa Panitikan at Malikhaing Pagsulat sa Filipino Online Commencement Exercises held on March 20, 2021.
The Sertipiko sa Panitikan at Malikhaing Pagsulat sa Filipino is a certificate program under the Institute of Continuing Professional Development (ICPD) of the PUP Open University System (OUS), in partnership with the Center of Language and Literacy Studies’ Center for Creative Writing (CCW).
In her opening remarks, OUS Executive Director Dr. Carmencita L. Castolo congratulated the graduates who have shown exemplary works in creative writing in Filipino wherein some of the write-ups were already published and have received recognition from different award-giving bodies.
Meanwhile, Prof. Jomar Adaya, the former chief of the CCW, also congratulated the graduates and said that the Sertipiko is offered to provide a quality and relevant certificate program that will develop deeper consciousness on Filipino arts, culture, and society that could contribute to the nation’s progress through Filipino creative writing.
This year’s class representative Mr. Reynaldo Tamayo Jr. also delivered his message of gratitude to the University and all of their mentors. The program ended with the message from the new ICPD Director Dr. Evangelina S. Seril.
The Sertipiko sa Panitikan at Malikhaing Pagsulat sa Filipino Program runs for two (2) years with renowned practitioners in the field of literature. Among them are Dr. Renato Vibiesca, Dr. Jun Cruz Reyes, Mr. Soliman Santos, Mr. Gerry Gracio, Mr. Jim LIbiran, Mr. MJ Rafal, Ms. Beverly Sy, Mr. Adam David, Mr. Ryan Machado, Mr. Amado Anthony Mendoza III, and Bob Ong.
The program will be opened for the second batch of students to providing better and more exciting programs with another set of notable individuals in Philippine Literature and creative writing.
