Three PUPians were among the four Filipino participants who represented the country through research presentation in the 12th Biennial Convention of the Pacific and Asian Communication Association (PACA) with the theme “Communication and Industrial Revolution 4.0” on July 4 to 6, 2018 at the Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Heritage of the University Malaysia Sabah in Sabah, Malaysia.
Dr. Rudolf Anthony A. Lacerna, faculty member from the College of Communication (COC) and the Training Chief of the Institute of Continuing Professional Development (ICPD) of the Open University System (OUS), presented his research titled“Proposed Media and Information Literacy (MIL) Teachers’ Competency Framework for Senior High School Education in the Philippines".
Dr. Lacerna was also recognized as the “Best Research Presenter".
Meanwhile, Prof. John Hayrold C. Malonzo from the College of Arts and Letters (CAL), who was also one of the moderators, discussed the findings in his study titled“The Historical Delineation of the Socio-Political Violations and Its Influence to the Fictional Communicative Discourses".
Lastly, Prof. Rosa Bella M. Quindoza, part-time faculty from the COC Department of Communication Research dwelt on the discussion on intercultural communication research through her paper titled “Communicating Democratization in a Cross-cultural environment.
