Several cultural organizations bagged awards after competing in the 10th Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) Cultural and the Arts Festival–National Capital Region held at Philippine Normal University (PNU) Gymnasium on November 15-16, 2018.
Sining-Lahi Polyrepertory was hailed champions in the Radio Play and Straight Play categories and 1st runner-up in Musical Play Category; PUP Bagong Himig Serenata was awarded 1st runner-up on Show Choir Category, and 2nd runner-up on Standard Choral Singing Category; Move to the Groove (M2TG) managed to defend their title as the back-to-back champions for Street Dance Category; while Maharlika Dance Artists’ secured the 1st runner-up award for Contemporary Dance Category.
For the individual categories, SLP’s Edmary Erika Batucan and Jocel Gray Panuelos were awarded as Best Actress in the Short and Sweet Straight Play, and Short and Sweet Musical Play; while BHS’s Julius Genoguin and Buklod Sining’s Jean Claroniño arose as champions in Instrumental Solo Piano and Charcoal Rendering Competition respectively.
In line with these achievements, PUP will be representing the NCR for the following categories: Radio Play, Straight Play, Street Dance, Instrumental Solo Piano and Charcoal Rendering on PASUC- Nationals which will be held on November 27 to 30, 2018 at the University of South Eastern Philippines (USeP).
