Valentine Dula, an instructor and administrative employee of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, received a recognition from the 67th Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards held on September 1, 2017, at The Peninsula Manila in Makati City.
Dula bagged second prize in the Short story (Filipino Division) category for his piece "Patintero", making him one of 23 first-time awardees.
Aside from Palanca Awards, Dula also won in the Saranggola Blog Awards in 2015 where his piece titled "Pinakukupal" bagged first prize in the Short story category.
The Palanca Awards was named after businessman and philanthropist Carlos Palanca and is sought after by both seasoned and emerging Filipino writers.
