The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) recognized the significant contribution of the University’s Center for Language and Literature Studies and Kagawaran ng Filipinolohiya for translating the GOCC’s citizen’s charter. Under an ongoing Memorandum of Agreement between the two government agencies, PUP will then proceed to translating PhilHealth’s forms and survey instruments to better cater to the needs of its clientele. The University would also help facilitate workshops on Filipino language and culture to enhance the frontline services offered by PhilHealth. The MOA also underscores various collaborative research and extension projects between the agencies for the next three years. PUP contingent was comprised of Prof. Marvin Lai, Chairperson of Kagawaran ng Filipinolohiya, Prof. Jomar Adaya, Chief of the Center for Language and Literature Studies, and Prof. Jackson James Llames, Faculty Extensionist of the College of Arts and Letters (CAL). PhilHealth representatives include Rey T. Balena, Senior Manager of the Corporate Communication Department, Emelita M. Retuta, Public Relations Officer of CorComm, Ma. Cielo Alonzo, Training Specialist of Social Health Insurance Academy, and Faudia H. Subillaga, Social Insurance Officer.
