After more than a year of renovation, the Polytechnic University of the Philippines inaugurated the new PUP Lagoon, Food, and Non-Food Concessionaire located at the Main Campus in Sta. Mesa, Manila on December 16, 2021.
Rev. Fr. Mark Demanuete officiated the blessing of the lagoon followed by a simple program spearheaded by the Office of the Vice President for Administration.
In his speech, President Manuel M. Muhi said that he is “very happy to see the results.” He also stated that the University is currently working on other infrastructures for the students.
“Just yesterday, we held a groundbreaking ceremony for the new PUP Rizal campus, which will house our Institute of Technology and the College of Law. Rest assured that this administration will continue to construct additional infrastructures within the university to meet the demands of a rapidly changing educational environment. As part of our vision to become the National Polytechnic University, we will always place the highest importance on providing a conducive and high-quality learning environment,” he said.
According to the Physical Planning and Development Office (PPDO), the new PUP Lagoon has new landscapes and hardscapes, and renovated stalls. The new lagoon will also serve as a park and open space for students.
Currently, the PPDO is working on the new gazebos and a bridge that will connect the lagoon to the Main Building.
