Industrial Engineering students conduct Digitalization webinar

Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering (BSIE) third-year students organized their first-ever digitalization webinar titled IEnvision: Driving the Future of Work, Accelerating End-to-End Digitalization on June 3, 2021, via Zoom platform.

The webinar aims to strengthen BSIE students’ knowledge in Operations Management and Production Planning.

Two prominent engineers, Engr. Zsaridel Monah Sagun and Engr. Joanna Sherbeth Austria-Morales served as resource speakers at the event.

Engr. Sagun is a Certified Industrial Engineer, a Production Planning and Inventory Control analyst, and Engr. Morales is a Certified Six Sigma Green Belter, a Materials Resource Planner at the UAE Defense Industry, the creator of Joyful Home-schooling without Borders, and the founder of Filipino Independent Homeschoolers (Philippines).

Also, both speakers were alumni of the PUP Department of Industrial Engineering.

Engr. Sagun tackled Production Planning and Control and Material Management while Engr. Morales’ talk focused on Operations Management, where she also mentioned the technological advancements and digitalization that occurred in the industry during the pandemic.

The second leg of the webinar was held on July 10, which featured the lectures of Engr. Earvin John Fabro and Engr. Clarissa J. Moncayo about Quality Control/Quality Assurance Engineer in the areas of Production Management and Production Planning and Control.
