The Polytechnic University of the Philippines, through the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, and the Quality Assurance Center, is elated to announce the results of the recently concluded accreditation visits in June and August.
For the first time, four programs qualified for Level IV Accreditation when they passed the phase 1 visit in August. The Bachelor of Arts in Filipinology and Bachelor of Arts in English of College and Arts and Letters (CAL), and Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Communication and Bachelor of Arts in Journalism of the College of Communication (COC) emerge triumphant after months of arduous preparation. As pioneer programs to reach the level, they are expected to claim the coveted level next year when they face the second phase of the accreditation.
In the Level III Phase 2 visit in June, six programs were added to the roster of programs with Level III Re-accredited status, which now rose to forty (40). Arguably, PUP has the highest number of programs accredited in the level among state colleges and universities. Master of Arts in Economics, Master of Arts in English Language Teaching, Master in Psychology, Master in Physical Education, and Master in Communication of the PUP Graduate School (GS) and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration of the College of Business Administration (CBA) now enjoy the said level.
On the other hand, the Bachelor in Public Administration of College of Political Science and Public Administration (CPSPA) and Bachelor in Physical Education of the College of Human Kinetics (CHK) which were subjected to Level II accreditation passed and achieved the Level they applied for.
In October, a total of eight programs from the following colleges will undergo Level 3 Phase 1 accreditation: College of Tourism, Hospitality and Transportation Management (CTHTM), College of Architecture and Fine Arts (CAFA), College of Accountancy and Finance (CAF), College of Science (CS), College of Social Sciences and Development (CSSD) and CBA. On the other hand, the College of Education (CoEd), College of Engineering (CE), CS, and Graduate School are set to begin their accreditation journey when they undergo Level I in November.
The PUP Branches in Lopez, Mulanay, Ragay, Taguig, and Quezon City are also set to undergo Level I and Preliminary Survey Visits this last quarter.
