The Center for Technology Transfer and Enterprise Development (CTTED) under the Office of the Vice President for Research, Extension, Planning and Development is set to launch its annual grand innovation exhibit with the theme, “Accelerating Transfer of Technology Towards Commercialization” on September 29-30, 2016. The event will be held at the ground to fourth floor lobbies of PUP Main Building. Participants will be students from different PUP Colleges, Campuses and Branches, PUP Open University and PUP Laboratory High School. For this year’s event, CTTED focused on innovative products, services and other processes that protect the environment and contribute to the wellness and improvement of human lives and has the potential for commercialization.
The Keynote Speakers for this year’s Grand Innovation Exhibit are Dr. Edgar I. Garcia, DOST-TAPI Director; Mr. Jerry T. Clavesillas, Director, Bureau of Small and Medium enterprise Development (DTI); and Mr. Carl E. Balita, Radio Broadcaster, DZMM.
The Board of Judges is composed of notable individuals from different industries which include Ms. Josefina P. Flores, OIC MSME Development (Small Business Corporation); Dr. Elton See Tan, Chairman, President and CEO ( The E-Hotels Group); Mr. Edwin C. Pasahol, DTI-Senior Trade & Industry Development Specialist; and Mr. Joseph Arnold De Guzman, President, First Food Link.
The Screening Committee is composed of faculty members from the College of Engineering, College of Business Administration, College of Computer and Information Science and College of Science (Food Technology). They are Engr. Orland D. Tubola, committee chairman with Engr. Pedrito M. Tenerife, jr. , Prof. Ria A. Sagum, Dr. Bobby Verzosa, Prof. Susan P. Arevalo and Prof. Perry David L. Solosa as members.
Vice President for Research, Extension, Planning and Development Dr. Joseph Mercado has expressed his commendations to the CTTED for their efforts in bringing together the University’s talented and innovative students. Mercado added that showcasing these products and services which were results of student’s careful studying and experimentations are clear indicators of the flourishing research environment we have in the University. He further encouraged the unit to continue promoting the ingenuity of PUPians through events such as this, and assured them of the support from the University through the OVPREPD.
