The Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) received a total of P75 million worth of funding from the Office of Senator Pia Cayetano for the University’s major building and facilities construction project for the year 2021.
Of the P75 million, P50 million will be allotted to facilitate the initial phase of construction of the academic building and grounds improvement of PUP Taguig, P20 million for the construction of the sports facility of PUP Main Campus, and P5 million for the University’s Futures Thinking Research and Artificial Intelligence.
PUP President Manuel M. Muhi expressed his gratitude to Cayetano for the latter’s efforts and unwavering support during the Senate plenary deliberations on the 2021 General Appropriation Bill that resulted to the budget augmentation. Muhi said that the fund will greatly help the University to improve its delivery and academic services.
“These funds will be used in innovative ways to improve the delivery of academic services in the above-mentioned campuses. Rest assured that updates and reports on the status of implementation of funds for these projects will be submitted to your good office. Thank you for making a huge difference in the home to more than 70,000 students and 5,000 faculty members and employees,” said Muhi.
