A total of 4,153 graduates comprised the Polytechnic University of the Philippines' Class of 2021. The Year-End Commencement Exercises was held on September 23 and 24, 2021, broadcasted via YouTube and Facebook Live.
Google Philippines Country Director Ms. Bernadette Nacario, RJ Lhuillier Group of Companies Vice President/Group Head Mr. Jonathan D. Batangan, Commission on Higher Education (CHED) National Capital Region Director IV Dr. Virginia D. Akiate and Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) Executive Director Dr. Milabel E. Ho served as the commencement speakers in the university’s five-cluster virtual graduation.
Nacario and Batangan were awarded with Outstanding Alumna and Alumnus while Akiate and Ho received the Tanglaw ng Bayan Awards for their achievements in their chosen fields and as recognition of their contributions to the development of the country and its people.
Moreover, Maribeth Casanova of Batsilyer ng Artes sa Filipinolohiya, Angelito Fernando of Bachelor of Physical Education, Angeline Joy M. Lim of Bachelor of Arts in English, and Michael Angelo C. Alejandro of Doctor in Business Administration graduate delivered the valedictory address and thanksgiving speech in clusters 1 to 5, respectively.
The batch representatives inspired their fellow graduates through their stories of perseverance, gratitude, hardships, and success.
The ceremony ended with messages from CHED Commissioner and PUP Board of Regent Chairman Dr. Ronald L. Adamat, CHED Chairman J. Prospero E. De Vera III, and Senator Joel Villanueva.
