Two PUP participating teams ranked 4th and 11th in the recently concluded International Shell Eco-Marathon Contest 2016 held on March 2-6 at the Luneta Park, Manila.
The two teams competed in the said tournament. PUP Hygears, headed by Dr. Dante V. Gedaria, placed 4th in the Diesel category. PUP Hygears consisted of Christopher Angelo Malaya, Mark Gabriel Nicholas, John Paulo Cantoria, Brizelle Ann Laurio, Angelo Tecson, Jam Michael Seda, Reuven Verunque, Christian Mozee Dalanon, Farly Garcia, Pauline Gamayao, Lyndon Adeba Lualhati, Charles Go, Christian Villianueva, Albert Arimia, Isel Cozico, and John Mari Santos.
Meanwhile, Team PUP Manila ranked 11th in the Gasoline Category. The members of the team were John Carlos Critica, Trish John Valles, Peter John Canlas, Jaro Andales, Darwin Jarillo, John Louie Bombales, Cedrick Paul Ediozo, Elle Richelle Billoura, Menthon John Roca, Jones Ladignon, Bernard Pepito, and Therence Relamata.
The International Shell Eco-Marathon Contest is an annual event held in different cities around the world. Participants are encouraged to stretch the boundaries of fuel efficiency in a real world urban environment. Winners were judged based on the mileage their projects achieved on a liter of fuel. The Manila series featured seventeen (17) representatives from different parts of Asia.
