1. Assumes a leading role in the local development of the various disciplines comprising the social sciences;
  2. Recommends research works in the areas of social sciences, human rights, political and socioeconomic issues, and other related disciplines;
  3. Monitors the operations of the various Centers under the Institute;
  4. Undertakes research studies on Human Rights, Labor and Gender Development;
  5. Invites foreign scholars/lecturers/researchers who will work in partnership with the Institute to provide talks and discourse on the discipline;
  6. Represents the University in seminars and forum related to the discipline;
  7. Publishes books and journals and contemporary literary pieces to add to the knowledge on the Human and Social Development;
  8. Creates local and international network in the academe, public and private sectors, and civil society groups.
