Tomas topped the recently conducted Registered Master Electrician Licensure Examination. The campus garnered a percentage of 98.31, surpassing other universities in the country.</p> <p>PUP Sta. Mesa was also recognized as the fourth top performing school with a percentage of 86.44.</p> <p>Meanwhile, PUP Sto. Tomas placed second in the list of top performing school for the Registered Electrical Engineer Licensure Examination.</p> <p>PUP Sto. Lacerna, News, Communication Management Office <br/><p>The Institute of Continuing Professional Development (ICPD) under the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) Open University System (OUS) organized a National Training on &ldquo;Acquiring Efficient Office Administration and Secretarial Skills.&rdquo; This was held on August 29 to 30 at the PUP Business Processing Outsourcing Center, Sta Mesa, Manila.</p> <p>OUS Executive Director Dr. Anna Ruby P. Gapasin and ICPD Director Dr. Rovelina B. Jacolbia welcomed the 58 participants from 14 different organizations namely PUP, Department of Transportation (DOTr), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, Inc. Bucao, the former president of the Philippine Association of Educators in Office Administration Foundation, Inc., tackled the module on &ldquo;Handling Telephone Calls and Telephone Etiquette.&rdquo; Meanwhile, the Dean of the College of Accountancy and Business of the National Teachers College Dr. Marlyn J. Mabalot dwelt on the modules on &ldquo;Handling Visitors&rdquo; and &ldquo;Business Ethics of Frontliners.&rdquo; Lastly, on the second day, the Human Resources Department Assistant Head of the Centro Escolar University Dr. Leny R. Mesa, Manila, News, Communication Management Office <br/><p>The Institute of Non-Traditional Study Program (NTSP) and Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP) or INE of the PUP Open University System conducted a two-day Training Workshop on Tutoring and INE Evaluation Process.</p> <p>Attended by tutors from the different colleges of the university, the Training Workshop aimed to achieve the following objectives: to introduce and orient the Tutors to the PUP eMabini eLearning portal and the PUP Learning Management System (LMS); and to discuss the duties and responsibilities of tutors and assessors.</p> <p>&nbsp;Day 1 of the training workshop commenced with a success testimony from an ETEEAP/NTSP student presently enrolled in a business program. Mrs. Mercedes S. Cruz, 65, spoke on how, upon discovering the nontraditional studies program, she was given the hope of fulfilling a lifelong dream of acquiring a baccalaureate degree.</p> <p><img alt="" src="https://scontent.fmnl15-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/21432771_1435738336522165_2392267685961909599_n.jpg?oh=59036a1681ce4038d2ebbdd0b82c3e88&amp;oe=5A191E09" /></p> <p>This was followed by a lecture given by Prof. Jerome P. Dumlao on how to efficiently and effectively use the LMS. Prof. Dumlao is the Head of Instructional Materials Development Office (IMDO) and Chair of the BS Entrepreneurship program. A prolific user of the eMabini eLearning portal, he likewise shared various tips on the use of the portal to the tutors.</p> <p>&nbsp;The third part of the morning session was the introduction of the PUP Learning Management System (LMS). Engr. Pedrito Tenerife, Jr., Chief of the Learning Management System discussed the important aspects of the system and taught the participants on how to use this to complement and enhance their teaching in the INE.</p> <p>The start of the afternoon session witnessed the Tutor&rsquo;s Orientation done by INE Director Dr. Remedios G. Ado. This was followed by the Assessors&rsquo; Orientation led by Dr. Raquel G. Mesa landed first in the Nutritionist-Dietitian Licensure Examination. She garnered a total score of 91.00, surpassing examinees from the University of the Philippines, University of Santo Tomas, and other Universities.&nbsp;</p> <p>Meanwhile, Shariel Eunice Ramos Juanilla and Alexandra Mogol Villarosa placed third and sixth, respectively, in the said examination. Juanilla posted 90.05 percentage while Villarosa garnered a score of 89.70.&nbsp;</p> <p>Additionally, the University continued to post good ranking in the said examination. PUP ranked third in the list of top performing schools for NDLE.
