The Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) and the Rojuan Bernardino-Ramirez Foundation Inc. signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on March 11, 2025, at Silid-Lakan Dayang, University Library and Learning Resources Center, launching a scholarship program for deserving underprivileged students.

Delivery system for PUP documents launched

The Office of the University Registrar (OUR), Resource Generation Office (RGO), and the Information Communications Technology Office (ICTO) launched the courier delivery system for important university documents called Academic Records Express Delivery Service (AREDS), March 7. This new service, which aims to provide an efficient method to provide quality services to students, is possible in partnership with express delivery and forwarding business company Wide Wide World Express Corporation (WExpress).

“Through AREDS, we can now ensure that they receive the documents in the quickest time possible without the need to visit our offices in person,” University President Dr. Manuel M. Muhi remarked.

AREDS is a delivery service added to the PUP Online Document Request System (ODRS) System. Students and alumni now have an option to select a door-to-door transportation for their requested academic documents. The Polytechnic University of the Philippines, in a bid to strengthen its connection with the industry as well as to improve its academic teachings to the Iskolar ng Bayan, inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with accounting firm KPMG R.G Manabat & Co (KPMG RGM & Co.)

In a signing ceremony held at the Mateo Conference Hall on February 17, the parties agreed to work together to achieve the “KPMG PH Industry to Classroom Learning Link” where they will share resources to both students and faculty in helping them “develop their knowledge, skills and acumen in the fields of business and accounting through theoretical and practical learnings.”

The KPMG RGM & Co., under the signed MOU, will hold projects such as scholarships for CAF students and lectures on Accounting and Auditing including those relating to Specialized Industries and other special topics for PUP students. New PRSP President is a proud PUPian

Ma. Luisa P. Sebastian, Managing Director of advertising and public relations agency Brown Bag Communications (BBComm) of PAGEONE Group has also earned the distinction of becoming the new president of the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP).

PRSP is the largest and premier organization and alliance of public relations (PR) professionals in the Philippines. Its serves as an avenue to further the professional development of PR practitioners, help uphold professional integrity and ethical standards of the industry, provide a platform for its members to connect with other people to share insights, and collaborate on the industry trends, organize prestigious PR awards such as the annual Anvil Awards and Gawad Panday, promote the role of public relations to societal development, and build partnerships with different institutions to strengthen the profession.

Sebastian is a proud alum of the Sintang Paaralan, finishing Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication in 1994. Aside from her current position, she boasts more than 25 years of combined exposure in corporate communications, integrated marketing, crisis and risk communications, media relations, and communication research, having worked as an executive in both the public and private sectors. She was Vice President for Public Affairs of the Social Security System (SSS) from 2014 to 2019. Her term as PRSP president commenced on February 1, 2023, and will run through to the end of 2026.

The University has once again shown the effectiveness of its student and career development programs which promote employability and enabled its alumni to become industry-ready and more than capable of being designated into leadership positions.
