It was organized in partnership with Teleradyo Serbisyo and Radyo 630, and it brought together experts from a variety of election-related organizations, such as the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), PPCRV, NAMFREL, LENTE, KONTRA DAYA, OCTA Research, PulseAsia, and the National Council on Disability Affairs. Professor Kim Bernardo Fajardo conveyed a message on behalf of University President Dr. Manuel M. Muhi, highlighting the importance of informed decision-making in the electoral process and the significance of youth participation.

COMELEC Chairman Atty. George Erwin Garcia emphasized the significance of the upcoming elections, particularly for the youth, who constitute about 30 to 35% of voters. He stressed the need for voters to look beyond social media and conduct thorough research on candidates’ backgrounds and platforms. She highlighted the crucial role of the media in ensuring a tranquil and orderly election process by providing balanced and timely information.

“Kaya po, mahalagang bago pa ’man dumating ang araw ng pagboto, dapat may baon na tayong mga botante ng tamang kaalaman para mas makapag-desisyon ng wasto sa pagpili ng mga ihahalal ng bagong mamumuno sa ating bansa at komunidad,” Capuyan emphasized.

(“Therefore, it is important that before voting day arrives, voters should already be equipped with the right knowledge so that we can make informed decisions in choosing the new leaders of our country and community,” Capuyan emphasized.)

Teleradyo Serbisyo and Radyo 630 are committed to serving as a bridge between voters, candidates, and institutions like COMELEC, providing accurate and responsible information across various platforms. Winnie Cordero served as moderator, facilitating meaningful conversations about the most urgent issues facing the country by bringing students and young voters face-to-face with political experts.

The event concluded with a call for responsible voting practices and active participation in order to ensure a brighter future for the nation. Initiatives such as this forum are essential in the Philippines as the country prepares for the May 12 elections, as they promote democratic values and cultivate a well-informed electorate. The commitment to ensuring that the electoral process is transparent, fair, and inclusive, with a focus on empowering the youth to influence the country’s future through their votes, is demonstrated by the collaboration between PUP, Teleradyo Serbisyo, and Radyo 630.

(Note: English translation generated from AI.)

View this article in PUPWebSite Tue, 11 Mar 2025 11:09:00 GMT http://www.pup.edu.ph/news/?go=PhD9%2byzxGn0%3d ARCDO holds annual One-Stop-Shop Elaine Carie A.
