The College of Education (COED) is one of the pioneer academic disciplines of the University dating back to the birth of the Manila Business School (MBS) in 1904. The College confers
degrees in business teacher education, elementary education, secondary education (major in English, Filipino, Mathematics, Social Studies), and postbaccalaureate in teacher education.
Message of the Dean
Welcome to the College of Education (CoEd) at the Polytechnic
University of the Philippines, the home to three four-year degree programs and a one-year postbaccalaureate program!
CoEd traces its roots to the Business Teacher Education Department in 1952 that evolved into the College of Office Administration and Business Teacher Education in 1986. As
such, the College has a proud history of providing students with outstanding educational opportunities and developing exceptional educational leaders.
When the College took a new name in November 2009, it started to concentrate on creative ways to develop a stronger and more responsive College of Education. As it provides academic
preparation for future teachers - who are both molders and role models of the young, CoEd endeavors to promote a values-laden educational philosophy, a philosophy that is based on
valuing not only the self and others but also the environment.
Make a difference! Help mold the young into productive Filipino citizens! Be a teacher and enroll for a bachelor’s degree (elementary, secondary, or business
teacher education), or launch a new career in education and enroll for the postbaccalaureate program.
Pursue your dreams; come join us.
Dr. Mely M. Padilla
