Notice of Search for Private Sector Representatives to the PUP Board of Regents 2019-2020

The Polytechnic University of the Philippines-Board of Regents formally and publicly announces the opening of the Search for two (2) Private Sector Representatives.

The following are the CRITERIA AND GUIDELINES for the Nomination:

  1. CRITERIA FOR NOMINEES FOR PRIVATE SECTOR REPRESENTATIVE (PSR) — Nominees for PSR to the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) Board of Regents (BOR) must satisfy the following criteria:
      1. Not less than thirty-five (35) years old at the time of application;
      2. A natural-born Filipino Citizen;
      3. Holder of (at least) bachelor’s degree in any field/profession from a reputable higher educational institution;
      4. Not presently holding any position in a public/private school governing board;
      5. Must not have any pending administrative, civil or criminal case in any judicial or quasi-judicial body in the Philippines or abroad, and has not been convicted of any administrative offense or crime involving moral turpitude.
      6. Must not be related to any member of the current PUP BOR and Search Committee (SC-PSR) within the third degree of consanguinity or affinity;
      7. Must have an extensive record of employment, business, expertise, and connection with the private sector. If the nominee previously worked in any capacity with a government entity or was a consultant in any government undertaking or whatever nature, the proportion of the time the nominee served in government should not exceed one-fourth of the entire time served in the private sector;
      8. Has made important contribution to and distinguished himself/herself from the industry/profession or community and can potentially contribute to the pursuit of the PUP Mandate (; and
      9. Physically fit, willing to travel and can devote ample time in the service of PUP and its Board of Regents.

        An applicant who does not meet any one of the abovementioned minimum qualifications and cannot submit pertinent supporting documentary evidences for these minimum qualifications on the set deadline shall be disqualified from the Search Process.

      The achievements and contributions of nominees shall be evaluated according to percentages presented in table below:

      4. Community Service/Socio-Civic Engagement
      Involvement in socio-civic organizations and projects/programs initiated and implemented within the following scopes:
      • Barangay/Community-Wide/Sectoral (5)
      • City/Municipal-Wide (10)
      • Regional/National (15)

    2. Duly notarized Curriculum Vitae (personal data; educational qualifications/trainings attended; work experience; awards/certificates/citations; community or socio-civic affiliations; published works if any)
    3. Duly notarized/certified true copy of documents in support of the data/information stated in the Curriculum Vitae.
    4. Certification/Clearance from NBI and institution/office where applicant is presently employed.
    5. Certification/Clearance from Sandiganbayan or Civil Service Commission, if applicant has previous employment records in any government agency.
    6. Sworn statement/affidavit indicating that applicant has no pending administrative, civil or criminal case in any judicial or quasi-judicial body in the Philippines or abroad, and not been convicted of administrative offense or any crime involving moral turpitude.
    7. PSA (NSO) – authenticated Birth Certificate
    8. Medical Certificate of Physical Fitness issued by a physician from a DOH-accredited health institution but not the same institution where the applicant is presently employed. Letterhead of hospital or clinic must indicate DOH accreditation number.
    9. Nominee’s Conforme — Nominees should indicate their acceptance of the nomination by signing their conforme on the designated portion of the notarized nomination form.

The Search Committee for the Private Sector Representatives reserves the right to validate and verify the authenticity of documents submitted and the right to accept or reject any document that it deems to be questionable.

IMPORTANT: Interested parties must submit one (1) set of original, and three (3) sets of certified true copies of documents on or before October 15, 2018 to:
