12/01/2025 University Event
The annual National Conference of the Journalism Studies Association of the Philippines (JSAP) is a crucial platform for addressing the dynamic and often challenging landscape of media and communication in the country. This gathering brings together journalism faculty, student publication advisers, students, campus journalists, and professional journalists, essential for fostering a robust and ethical Philippine press. Among its key objectives are to address pressing issues and challenges and provide an opportunity to critically analyze and discuss the most urgent issues confronting the Philippine media. It also bridges the gap between academia and industry, connecting journalism educators (faculty), future journalists (students), and current practitioners (journalists) through a meaningful discourse. A central component of the conference is the presentation of original research by both faculty and students encouraging a culture of scholarly inquiry and innovation within the field. The conference is also geared towards the creation of a stronger, more unified national network of media stakeholders, committed to journalistic excellence and accountability.
