As global competition becomes stronger and the demands of all sectors of
the market continue to grow in terms of technology as well as price and
service, companies need engineers and managers who can operate effectively
across the Management-Technology interface.
This program responds to a need at the country level for engineers that
can manage and improve integrated systems of people, materials, information,
facilities and technology.
The curriculum revision was a result of assessments and or, benchmarking
from national and international institutions, industry partners and related
agencies. In the Philippines, the program is offered only at the PUP
Graduate School, while abroad, the program is very popular and in demand.
The main purpose of this program is to create an understanding for
technique and business processes in the modern industry. The student will
have broad competence and will be able to perform holistic economical
evaluations parallel, or, integrated with, technical evaluations.
The Industrial Engineering and Management Program is a Master of Science
program which gives the students profound knowledge within both technology
and business. This unique combination enables the students to become the
link between technicians and business economists.
The MSIEM program focuses on the development and management of processes
within or between companies to optimize their performance. Acquisition of
up-to-date knowledge of scientific theories allows students to analyze and
optimize processes in organizations and apply their findings. The aim is to
gain an understanding of the relation between process development, process
control and the relevant achievement indicators.
